Visit to Walmart

 Needed some cat and dog food.  We stop by at Walmart and grabbed somethings for our furry pets.

They can’t eat just can food all the time.  So I grabbed some Fancy Feast dry food for the twins.

I also grabbed some Sardines.  Which they just had two cans already.  Sardines in water is what I get for my two cats and my dog Hershey.  The hot sauce Sardines are for me.

And I can’t believe this was $5 bucks from Walmart.

So I’m planning on adding the 2nd bed on the 2nd shelf of this cart.  But I think they are over growing it. So the plan B is to buy another cart from Harbor Freight.  Which is twice the cost or maybe more.

When I first purchased one of these, it cost around $39.  Everything has sky rocketed in price.  But I think their bed will fit generously on top of this.

And for Hershey, I bought her a new sleeping bag for her bedding.  She needed a new one.  We threw the old one away, cleaned her bed bucket, which is a cement plastic mixing bowl.

That’s what I used for my dog’s very own bed.  I just add a sleeping bag for comfort on it.

Princess update

 

We had to wait over 5 hours yesterday to be seen by the Vet.  But I didn’t mind at all.  and I’m glad we did.  After having some blood test, the vet said Princess is very sick and needed to stay with them to get her on fluid iv.  Dr. Valerie is concern about her kidneys and she believes some strong antibiotic should help.  This is the kind of treatment and concern I wanted for my dog, Princess.  I spent over $600 on Hudspeth Animal hospital in Macon and I did not received this kind of treatment or concern.

I’m glad Tracy didn’t mind driving us here in Gordon Georgia, Wilkinson county.  We should here from them on Monday the Vet said.  I am praying and hoping everything is gonna be just fine and my pitbull life be extended for a few more years, like atleast 5 more.  She’s 11 years old.  And I love her dearly.

UPDATE

We picked up Princess Monday, yesterday.  And everything was fine.  They said she ate.  And she seems much better.  Took her home and she did eat half of can of dog food with her medicine.  But this morning was a whole another thing.  Am I messing up?  Fucking things up?  Overdoing it?  I put half of a can of dog food that I bought specifically for her yesterday from Pet Smart, added some slippery elm, and slipped her medication, and stupid me I did add some of the cabbage juice and carrot juice.  She acted funny once she tasted it.  I immediately regretted it.  Maybe I should have not added the cabbage and carrot juice.  Now she won’t eat and I refused to go to work.  Then maybe if I crushed the medication and add it to some yogurt.  I mixed the yogurt and her medicine and laddered it up in her mouth.  Because she refused to eat or open her mouth.  

I just pray to God that worked some what. 

Update September 13

My pitbull dog Princess has black diarrhea stool

 After a very expensive visit, around $600 bucks.  The vet gave her medicine and really didn’t recommend  anything else other than force feed her.

And here is what I’m doing to prevent things from happening.  Changing her diet.  If I’m going to pay for an expensive vet visit…. I might as well change her diet and spend my money on a higher quality dog food.  For now, no kibble allowed. Instead this is what I purchased this week and this is what her and Hershy is eating.

Freshpet Vital Grain Free. 

She still not eating much.  I manage to convince her to eat two bowls of this week.

Slippery elm and milk thistle.

I’ve been mixing about 1/2 teaspoon of milk thistle with goat milk or sometimes with pumpkin.

The results.  I see improvements with Princess. 

I’m happy I found out about slippery elm.

Thank goodness for credit card.  I couldn’t handle my Princess being sick any longer and didn’t want to wait for Monday.  We decided to visit a vet on Sunday and expected a hefty bill. It came to about $600 bucks!  Here is her status.

1.  She has some kind of infection.  The vet thought that she might have Kidney failure but thank goodness she doesn’t.  He said it was expected for her age.  But her Kidneys are good.

2.  So she got some antibiotic medicine and another medicine to coat her intestinal linings.  

3.  Monday morning poop was still dark and black but it was somewhat solid.  No vomit that I noticed and last night she ate some food.  

4.  Bought her some milk thistle capsules, which I’m taking also

5.  And she has some slippery elm coming today.

6.  I have to force feed her still.  But Yeah!!! She ate something.  

7.  Went to Pet store last night and bought her goat’s milk and fresh food, not can food, or kibble, fresh food from the fridge.  I’m changing their diet.

8.  I also made some chicken and a little bit of rice with 4 carrots and 1.5 sweet potatoes.  That will be their dinner tonight when I get home.  I cooked it this morning in the instant pot.

 She she’s here at the vet and they’re testing her for kidney failure.  So far the bill is $511 😞😔

We’re at Hudspeth animal clinic in Macon.  They’re very expensive but they help her last time.  I’m just glad they’re open and available.

My dog is sick

 Princess has been pooping black stool since Friday and it’s Sunday today.  We couldn’t get a visit to Griffin animal hospital because she haven’t been there for years and no longer accepting new clients.  Even tho we frequent them for their monthly flea medicine.

Dr. Griffin is so affordable, I guess that’s why he has so many clients.  So I guess we go see the Hudspeth animal hospital.  I will call them tomorrow to make appointment or have an emergency visit. Which will cost me $115 plus treatment.  I’m gonna pay it because I don’t like to see her like this.

We took her to the park yesterday.  Hopefully she’ll eat grass and get somewhat better and maybe puke out what ever it is that’s ailing her.  She did eat grass but she mainly sat at the park.  She seems very low energy and not herself.  She hasn’t eaten since Friday which worry me. 

But Dr. Hudspeth took care of her last time even tho it was expensive. Hopefully they will be able to help us again.

New member of the pack

 

Meet “Bear”, our new member of the pack.

I am so proud of my pitbulls because they have allowed “Bear” arrived to us as a kitten and is now grown, to join our family.  He’s talkative, loves to eat and demands cuddling.

 Planning on whining them out of dry food.  Today they are sharing a can of dog food with some bone broth added to it. 

Princess has lost majority of her body hair and now spreading to her head and face.

For the pass week. I’ve bath her with oatmeal shampoo. Once per week.Maybe I should do more bathing?

I also got them some collar from Dollar Tree. I don’t recommend them at all.
