Dos and Don't when taking your dog on vacation

I wanted to share our experienced and our trial and tribulation we had to under go when we decided to take Toot, our pitbull dog on vacation with us.

  1. Know the laws in which the state you are heading to about dogs, whether they need to be in seat belt or even if pittbulls are allowed in the city or state.  Such as Miami, Florida does not allowed pitbulls in their city limits or Jacksonville FL requires you to have a seat belt for dogs while traveling in vehicles.
  2.  Do, bring a long dog leash at the beach so your dog can really enjoy itself.  We brought along with us a 20ft training leash.  And it really help when it came to our dog playing in the water.  and its much lighter than chain leash.
  3. Know the dog rules and regulations at the beach before heading there.  We had no idea that dogs cannot enter certain beaches 'till after 5pm.  and they must be on leash.
  4. Make sure the hotel you are planning to attend, accept pets or dogs.  We were turned down by 3 hotels.  The hotels did not accept pets.  and some accepted pets but only small ones and wanted $200 extra for $50-$75 room per night.  LOL!,  we were forced to sneaked our dog in a hotel.  and thank goodness she was very well behave.
Anyway check out the videos below of Toot enjoying the beach.

Although our Toot never been to the beach, and don't even like taking baths, this dog enjoyed the beach very well.  I really wanted her to go into the water because:
  1. She just lost her sister.  and I know she's depressed
  2. She had manged really bad.  and I thought even after treatment from the vet the salt water of the beach should help.
  3. the girl is a flea bag.  She just attracts fleas like a magnet.
  4. and I just wanted her to have fun.
and oh boy she did!  can't wait to take her again.  I wish we lived near the beach.  We live in middle GA, we would have to travel 2 to 3 hours to find arrived at a beach.
