Roxy the pitbull puppy 1/2011-7/2012

Yesterday (7/12/2012) evening was very devestating for the family. While my mother was taking too and Roxy outside in the front yard to play around and a short walk Roxy was struck by an SUV. It all happened when Roxy seen two male teenagers, she could see pass the house all down the sidewalks path because the prisoners had came to cut all the limbs and bushes earlier yesterday. One of the teenage boys took off running down the sidewalk once seeing Roxy had seen them and started barking. Unfortunately, the other teenage boy took off for the middle of the road and stood there so Roxy followed him and once she started crossin he took off running and she got hit by the SUV. I came running outside the house because I heard a wrecking vehicle noise, followed by my mother's horrifying screams for help. Running up my drive thru I hear the boy who ran up the sidewalk saying call the police and my boyfriend jumped out of his car being that he was on his way home. In panic we're running to the middle of the street where Roxy is laying, her eyes are still open and I thought I felt her heart beating and her still breathing. I then call the Hudspeth Animal Hospital, I get the call center and the doctor has to call me. I'm so disappointed in the Hudspeth Animal Hospital once again. The doctors act like they don't care for animals at all. The Dr. tells me  it's a $100 deposit and we tell him that we have it and we're rushing towards the hospital at the moment. We get to the hospital and we're waiting and waiting and waiting... talking to Roxy so that she can hear our voice and praying that she isn't dead. Next thing you know she's not breathing, we call the Dr. back and he answers we ask how far is he, he responds as if he doesn't know that we just called about our puppy getting hit by a car and he wasn't even on his way! We then took Roxy home and buried her in the backyard. Toot has been very sad every since, she laid under the bed all day yesterday. She is very hurt and you can tell, she walked up when were carrying Roxy into the backyard to bury her and stood there just looking sad and sniffing Roxy. We will all never forget Roxy and shse will never be replaced even if we do decide to later on add another family member to our household.
REST IN LOVE ROXY!

Focus on Toot

Glimpse of Toot chillin.

It may not seem as so, but this Pitbull has gone through a lot.  With her on going mange medication and treatment, this pest disease seem to too hard to get rid of.  But she looks much better.  Toot was nearly balld, with sores all over her body with blood.  We never really found out how she acquired it.  I think is when we took her to Pet Smart for grooming.  A week later she started loosing her hair.

I tried everything, from Tea Tree Oil, to Apple Cider Vinegar treatment,  nothing seems to work and it just got worst.  So eventually we took her to the vet and got her and Roxy matiban dip.  And She quickly started getting better.  but needed this expensive treatment for $20 per dip per dog.  A month of treatment, on a weekly basis, started showing much improvements.  But she still need more treatments as you can see, her body hair hasn't fully recover and she still shows pinkness.  Pinkness is part of signs that your pittbull has mange.

I love my full of character pitbull dog.  As my daughter says, Toot thinks shes a family member and Roxy is the pet.
